      NEW AFRICAN PRODUCTION a le plaisir d'annoncer la réapparition du groupe pionnier de la Guadeloupe, désormais connu sous le nom de TEAM ZOUK MACHINE. Avec une nouvelle présentation passionnante qui a réuni le public à travers l'Europe, l'Amérique latine et les Caraïbes, le groupe est dirigé par Christiane Obydol - elle-même membre fondateur du trio vocal féminin qui a brisé les barrières culturelles et de genre dans le 1980 pour obtenir une reconnaissance internationale.     Le groupe réserve actuellement des dates aux États-Unis et au Canada pour la saison 2017-2018.     Avec des graines plantées aux Antilles françaises et cultivées dans les studios de Paris, le zouk a explosé sur la scène musicale à la fin des années 1980, reprenant des pistes de danse à travers l'Europe, l'Afrique et les Caraïbes.     Zouk Machine a été créée en 1986 par Guy Houllier et Yves Honoré, musiciens guadeloupéens renommés, dont le groupe Experience 7 faisait partie du mouvement d'identité culturelle qui a balayé toute la région des Caraïbes dans les années 1970. Leurs fusions novatrices de la musique folklorique antillaise ont conduit à de nouveaux genres tels que la biguine, la cadence-lypso, le kadans-compas et d'autres. Ces genres sont devenus la base du zouk dans les années 1980, avec l'ajout de synthétiseurs, de boîtes à rythmes et d'autres effets électroniques qui ont propulsé la musique pop à un tout autre niveau mondial.     Inspirées par des stars comme Tanya St-Val et Jocelyne Béroard (du super groupe Kassav '), les trois choristes d'Experience 7 - Joëlle Ursull, Christiane Obydol et Dominique Zorobabel - se sont lancés dans la peau de Zouk Machine, bientôt l'un des trios féminins les plus réussis des Antilles.

    Entre 1986 et 1999, Zouk Machine a sorti 7 albums acclamés (dont deux compilations "Best Of"), 12 EP et 6 singles qui ont dominé les charts en France. En 1990, leur deuxième album a produit un hit single # 1, Maldòn (Musique dans la peau), qui est allé platine; à plus d'un million d'exemplaires, il reste le single zouk le plus vendu de tous les temps.     Le groupe a connu des changements de personnel et d'autres bouleversements: en 1989, Ursull a été remplacé par Jane Fostin, qui a ensuite quitté en 1995. Obydol et Zorobabel ont continué en duo jusqu'en 2006, quand Zorobabel est allé en solo et Obydol a pris la Machine dans ses propres mains.    Depuis plus de dix ans, Christiane Obydol parvient à trouver cet équilibre délicat entre nostalgie et nouveauté. Rejoint sur scène en soutenant des chanteurs / danseurs, le groupe comprend des membres fondateurs Houllier et Honoré, ainsi qu'une gamme flexible de musiciens chevronnés.     Tout en satisfaisant les fans de longue date avec une revue des hits qui ont catapulté Zouk Machine au sommet des charts, Obydol continue d'attirer de nouveaux fans avec un répertoire original. Sa popularité s'est répandue dans les Caraïbes, en Europe et à travers le continent africain, des îles du Cap-Vert à l'ouest aux îles de l'océan Indien à l'est.     Obydol fête ses 30 ans sur la scène musicale. Il renouvelle le concept du groupe en tant que Team Zouk Machine et fait avancer la musique avec son son "pop zouk" - un riche mélange de saveurs caribéennes allant du cadence au compas en passant par la cumbia et le gwo ka antillais. et les rythmes chouval bwa, épicés de funk, de jazz, de rock et de soul - qui séduisent un public multiculturel et transgénérationnel.

    En 2016, le groupe faisait partie du TOP 50, une grande tournée de concerts des artistes français les plus vendus des années 80, où ils se produisaient dans plus de 30 salles de France. Cela a été suivi par la sortie d'un double paquet CD / DVD, Anthologie Live (Sun Records). Premier album du groupe depuis 1999, il représente une véritable anthologie des grands succès en or actuellement joués. Il comprend également une production originale, inédite en studio, l'hymne sportif "Allez Les Bleus (Yélé)".     Au début du mois de janvier 2017, le groupe s'est produit dans le légendaire lieu de musique du monde de New York, S.O.B. Une tournée de l'été 2017 a inclus plusieurs des festivals les plus importants en France et en Suisse, plus une célébration de 30 ans en Guyane, au légendaire Zéphyr, se produisant pour une maison à guichets fermés. With an exciting new presentation that has been bringing audiences to their feet across Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, the band is led by Christiane Obydol – herself a founding member of the all-female vocal trio that broke through cultural and gender barriers in the 1980s to achieve international acclaim.   The group is currently booking dates in the United States and Canada for the 2017-2018 season.   With seeds planted in the French Antilles and cultivated in the studios of Paris, zouk exploded onto the music scene in the late 1980s, taking over dance floors throughout Europe, Africa and the Caribbean.   Zouk Machine was formed in 1986 by renowned Guadeloupean musicians Guy Houllier and Yves Honoré, whose band Experience 7 was part of the cultural identity movement that swept across the entire Caribbean region in the 1970s. Their innovative fusions of Antillean folk music led to such new genres as biguine, cadence-lypso, kadans-compas and others. Her popularity has spread throughout the Caribbean, Europe and across the African continent, from the Cape Verde islands in the west to the Indian Ocean islands in the east.   Presently celebrating 30 years on the music scene, Obydol is rebranding the group’s concept as Team Zouk Machine and moving the music forward with their “pop zouk” sound – a rich stew of Caribbean flavors from cadence to compas and cumbia along with the Antillean gwo ka and chouval bwa rhythms, spiced with funk, jazz, rock and soul – that appeals to a cross-cultural and cross-generational audience.   In 2016, the group was part of TOP 50, a grand concert tour of the top-selling French artists from the ‘80s, where they performed in over 30 of France’s indoor arenas. That was followed by the release of a double CD/DVD package, Anthologie Live (Sun Records). The group’s first album since 1999, it represents a true anthology of the solid gold hits as currently performed. It also includes an original, previously unreleased studio production, the sports anthem “Allez Les Bleus (Yélé)”.   In early January 2017, the group performed at New York City’s legendary world music venue, S.O.B.’s.
